Canada - Exclaim!: "The album's crowning achievement, "Serotonin," is an irresistibly catchy, angsty track about the realities of mental illness. Produced by hit-maker FINNEAS, the song pleads for relief in a raw, painful way: "Like how do I make this stop / When it feels like my therapist hates me / Please don't let me go crazy."

UK - Guardian: “superb upcoming debut album… Whether her theme is desire or depression, Ulven deals in stark, specific honesty. She belongs to a new wave of artists determined to counter empty empowerment anthems with warts-and-all vulnerability.”

UK - Sunday Times Culture: “A streaming sensation for frank, lo-fi indie anthems...Marie Ulven has scaled up her sound on a debut that could barely be bolder. The lyrics are candid about her state of mind and love life, yet still littered with wit. Stroppy rock and glossy pop strengthen her songs but don’t distil the queer icon’s power. The spewed-out Serotonin is already a single of the year. Much here could follow suit.”

UK - The Observer (YSB): “Viciously catchy love song”

UK - The Line of Best Fit: “if i could make it go quiet cements Girl in Red as a dynamic indie pop force...girl in red belongs to the thrilling wave of gen z artists tearing through taboos and demanding their rightful place in the mainstream consciousness.”

UK - The Line of Best Fit: “Ulven’s debut is now taking her to stratospheric new heights”

UK - Clash: “Three years on from her debut EP, ‘if I could make it go quiet’ finds girl in red re-stating her independence, queering pop’s rules to find a space she can call her own. It’s inspiring, and above all else incredibly catchy.”

UK - The Quietus: “Complex and sophisticated, if i could make it go quiet is one of the most enticing new albums I have heard in a long time. I cannot wait to listen to it on repeat. I’ve got to know all the lyrics for when girl in red goes on tour next year, after all.”
